Market evolution: FOCUS ON TF1

Hello everyone!

Hope you still enjoying reading our articles.

Today we are talking briefly about TF1 STORY!
At first it was Radiovision PTT and it was the first France television channel born in 1935 and was at first a government company.
The channel changed its name many times between 1935 and 1975.
The 6th January 1975 the channel became TF1 and begun to be the one that we know today! At that time the main sows of TF1 was “Le petit rapporteur”, the news, Midi Première, “L’île aux enfants”.
In 1987 French State, that owned at that moment the 3 only French channels (TF1, FR2 and FR3) decided that one of this 3 has to be sold to a private company, so the channel is sold to the French Group Bouygues.
After the repurchase all the journalist and speakers of the channel leave the company because of the change of editorial line, they didn’t feel free anymore. That is why right after the Bouygues purchase the new “star programs” were “Club Dorothé”, “Tout est possible”, “Sacrée soirée”. In 1991 TF1 became the first French channel in audience. Then it was the beginning of the society shows that were made by ordinary people: “Perdu de vue”, “l’amour en danger”. And that became the new “know how” of TF1 and its new positioning. In the 90’s TF1 is the first French channel with a lot of shows and the biggest audience.

Nowadays, since 2005 the TNT changes a lot of perspective in that market. TF1 is not anymore the only and the first channel on TV.

See you soon guys!
